Morocco : Govt. says the circumstances require a reassessment of relations between Morocco and Spain
Communication Minister and Government Spokesperson, Khalid Naciri, said on Thursday that the Moroccan government considers that the circumstances require a reassessment of relations between Morocco and Spain in all areas

At a press briefing after the weekly Cabinet Meeting, Naciri said that this came following the resolution adopted, on Thursday, by the Spanish parliament, which is characterized by its hostility towards Morocco and contains anti-Moroccan passages and expressions that can not be accepted.
The resolution, he added, implicitly supports the opponents of the Kingdom while it remains silent on the position of Algeria, although the latter shoulders the primary responsibility vis-à-vis the acute tension prevailing in the region.

Naciri said that the Cabinet Meeting has thoroughly analyzed the positions of Spain's different parties and players which are characterized, in their entirety, by negative and hostile whiffs especially after the peaceful dismantling of Gdim Izik camp on November 8 by security forces.

The Moroccan government deplored the fact that “the Spanish parliament preferred to condemn Morocco instead of hailing the Moroccan authorities for the wisdom and responsibility they showed in Laayoune’s recent events, which caused no deaths among civilians,” he said.

The government also voiced regret at the fact that the Spanish parliament did not denounce the deliberate misinformation of some Spanish media, which constitutes a message that encourages other parties to persist in their irresponsible actions, Naciri added.

He said that the government notes that the Spanish political forces put once again Morocco at the heart of internal political struggle in the wake of a frantic election race to distract the attention of the Spanish public opinion away from the deep economic crisis that has hit Spain.
